The sufferers are rounded up and herded into a quarantine ward, in what looks like a disused hospital or jail, with armed guards preventing their escape. The other wards fill up fast, and [flickers] of [information] from the outside suggest that the whole city has gone blind, and perhaps the world beyond. 

It doesn’t take long for the place to fester; soon, there are naked figures, no longer bothering to dress, wandering through corridors littered with filth, human and otherwise. The doctor, who is kindly, efficient, and, frankly, a little boring, tries to maintain order.
